Participation Requirements

What type of computer is required for the online class?

A student who wishes to enroll in an online class (group or individual) needs to have access to a desktop computer or laptop. If the student does not have a computer, he or she may be able to access a computer at a local library. It’s not required but it’s preferred that the student have the camera installed on the computer so the instructor can see him or her in the virtual classroom. All virtual class sessions will take place on Google Meet.

What is the length of the online class?

Each online class (group or individual) is eight weeks long. All group sessions are 75-minutes long, and individual sessions are 60-minutes long. Please keep in mind that some sessions may run over the slotted time frame. It’s important for the instructor to cover the agenda for each scheduled session so each student feels confident and knowledgeable when ready to take the state written driver’s test at the end of the 8-week training program.

What if I can’t attend a scheduled class session?

The student is responsible for notifying the instructor via email (learntodrive@drive-4-success.com) or phone/text (573-200-6684) when unable to attend a scheduled class session. If it’s a group session, the instructor will invite the student via email to watch the recorded class session at a later date and time. If it’s an individual session, the student must contact the instructor ahead of time so it can be rescheduled for another date and time.

Why does the student have to provide their own vehicle for driver’s training?

There are several reasons why the student must bring their own or family vehicle to the scheduled driver’s training sessions. One, Drive 4 Success does not have any vehicles at this time for students to borrow for driver’s training. Two, it’s important for the student to become comfortable and familiar with the vehicle that he or she will be driving daily when they obtain their driver’s license.

What are the requirements for a student to sign up for the “Behind-the-Wheel” driver’s training program?

There are five requirements:

  1. Student and/or parents read, sign, and submit the liability waiver form to Drive 4 Success.

  2. Student must submit a copy of his or her valid driver’s permit to Drive 4 Success,

  3. Student and/or parents must furnish a copy of the automotive insurance policy on the vehicle to Drive 4 Success,

  4. Student and/or parents must provide a safe, operable vehicle for the student or adult to drive. The driving instructor will conduct a safety inspection to make sure that headlights, turn signals, brakes, mirrors, seat belts, etc. are in working order before the student drives off the parking lot.

  5. Student must ensure that the vehicle is free of any odor (e.g., trash, cigarettes, marijuana).

What if the student wishes to drop out of a training program?

In the online driver’s training program, $100 is nonrefundable. The student must notify the instructor prior to the third session that he or she wishes to opt out of the program to be reimbursed the remaining balance of $149.

In the “Behind-the-Wheel” training program, $250 is nonrefundable. The student or parent must notify the driving instructor prior to the third session that he or she wishes to opt out of the program to be reimbursed the remaining balance. The student is encouraged to participate in at least two driving sessions before making a decision to drop out of the program.
